Stamp Our Story: Honoring America’s Nisei Veterans
The short documentary film “Stamp Our Story: Honoring America’s Nisei Veterans” tells the inspiring story behind the Go For Broke: Japanese American Soldiers of World War II Forever commemorative postage stamp. Rare and exclusive historical footage and still images from private and public collections are shown. The film was co-produced by the Stamp Our Story Committee.
The filmmakers received the Heritage Award at the 2023 DisOrient Asian American Film Festival of Oregon. We thank the DisOrient jury and organizers, and we congratulate the film’s co-directors Kaia Rose and Robert Horsting.
This film had a special, in-person premiere in Washington, D.C. on July 11, 13, and 15, 2022, at the Japan Information and Culture Center.
