Stamp Our Story: Honoring America’s Nisei Veterans

Join us for the local premiere of the Stamp Our Story Film at this year’s GI Film Festival in San Diego, California, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 5PM, at the San Diego Museum of Art – Museum of Photographic Arts. Tickets can be purchased online in advance.

The short documentary film “Stamp Our Story: Honoring America’s Nisei Veterans” tells the inspiring story behind the Go For Broke: Japanese American Soldiers of World War II Forever commemorative postage stamp. Rare and exclusive historical footage and still images from private and public collections are shown. The film was co-produced by the Stamp Our Story Committee.

The film has been selected to be featured at seven film festivals nationwide. The filmmakers received the Heritage Award at the 2023 DisOrient Asian American Film Festival of Oregon.

This film has had special, in-person and online screenings at various events, including its first premiere in Washington, D.C. on July 11, 13, and 15, 2022, at the Japan Information and Culture Center.
