Stamp Our Story: Honoring America’s Nisei Veterans

Watch for the upcoming online streaming of this film on the Day of Remembrance website in 2025!

The short documentary film “Stamp Our Story: Honoring America’s Nisei Veterans” tells the inspiring story behind the Go For Broke: Japanese American Soldiers of World War II Forever commemorative postage stamp. Rare and exclusive historical footage and still images from private and public collections are shown. The film was co-produced by the Stamp Our Story Committee.

The film has been selected to be featured at seven film festivals nationwide. The filmmakers received the Heritage Award at the 2023 DisOrient Asian American Film Festival of Oregon.

This film has had special, in-person and online screenings at various events, including its first premiere in Washington, D.C. on July 11, 13, and 15, 2022, at the Japan Information and Culture Center.

The Marina High School Japanese Club learned about the Nisei World War II Soldiers Legacy and hosted a special screening of the film in March 2023.
